Earth vs Core
Old World Order
Before the war, the whole of human occupied space was already a wild and dangerous place. In a time when colonial borders were not even a definite thing, law and order between the stars were often hard to find. Read on to learn about an age long past when home was the ground beneath your feet and the frontier spanned the entirity of the sky above.
Outer Space Authority
Even before the Expansion Age, the task of maintaining civil order between Earth and other human settlements was a difficult one. Settlers would rely on the support of their countries of origin on Earth, but before long, the lines of nationality were lost in the vastness of space. The Outer Space Authority was created to uphold the law in the vast jurisdiction of the void between worlds. Though never a militarized force, the size of the OSA certainly put it on par with even the largest planetary armies, but the cultural diversity of the organization ensured its neutrality in conflicts over the years.
Colonial Drift
Eventually mankind spread too far from home to be effectively governed by any single planeraty or regional force. Pockets of civilization were blooming into the colonies we know today and new systems of order were developing across the galaxy. The OSA could no longer manage law enforcement universally and in their absense many others sought to grasp the reins of power.
